Our History
Marana Health is the longest-serving community health center in Arizona, providing continuous health care since its incorporation in 1957. We began by providing medical care to migratory farm workers and other locals in Marana.
As a community health center, we make sure everyone can access high-quality care—regardless of income or insurance status. Our Sliding Fee Scale helps patients pay based on what they can afford, so cost isn’t a barrier to getting the care they need.
We’ve grown alongside our community. In 1964, we built our first clinic and doubled our staff. In 1972, when Marana became a Critical Health Manpower Shortage Area, we partnered with the National Health Services Corps to bring more providers to the area.
In 1975, the University of Arizona Department of Family and Community Medicine awarded us the Hill-Burton Grant, which allowed us to expand our clinic building significantly. That building served as our main site for 36 years, until we opened our current Marana Main Health Center in 2011.
In 2025, we began a new chapter with a new name, a new look, and a modern patient experience. We became Marana Health, launched a new electronic health record.
For over 67 years, we’ve stood beside our patients—helping families grow, heal, and thrive. Whether you visit us for a routine check-up, dental care, mental health support, or just need someone to listen, we’re here for you.
